Greetings!
As you are gathering information and starting to put your project books together we want to provide you with some additional resources. For the first time, we have placed on our web site project books from different population categories. Read more in this newsletter about this resource.
We want to be sure that you are using the new Project Book guidelines and entry materials as you prepare for the MCB Award Competition, therefore we are reprinting them from the previous newsletter. Remember this information is available on our web site and may be entered online or printed and filled out. We are also reprinting the information about the MCB Calendar of Events so that you have the deadline information at your finger tips.
MCB wants to provide you with as much assistance as possible as you prepare for the Award Competition. For the first time we have placed four Project Books from different population categories on our web site. These examples will give new or reactivating communities or neighborhoods a starting point as they assemble information and put their project book together. For the communities and neighborhoods that have participated in the Award Competition for many years this will give you examples of how other organizations compose their project book to determine if you would like to try a new style of presentation.
If you would like to use this new MCB resource please go to our web site at mcb web site and review the Project Book examples. Then start working on your Project Book using the style your community decides to use. The pages following each project may be filled with newspaper articles, photos or other information that provides information about your project. Remember your Project Book is the first opportunity that the judges have to learn about your projects before they visit your community or neighborhood.

The MCB Adult and Youth Planning Committees are hard at work selecting topics and speakers for our Annual Conference. The conference will be held for the first time in Jefferson City at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. Events will start on Sunday afternoon and conclude with the Awards Banquet on Monday evening.
We hope that all our communities will enter the Awards Competition, but if it is not possible this year, please plan to attend the Annual Conference anyway. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet people from other community betterment organizations, review the Project Book entries, visit with vendors that can assist your community on future projects and hear great speakers with topics for youth and adults.
