Conference Program Provides New Resources for Communities and Neighborhoods

The 43rd Annual Missouri Community Betterment Conference Program is available on the MCB web site. We have been fortunate this year to have a Youth and an Adult Planning Committee to help plan the schedule of events for our conference. We have planned programs that will provide communities, neighborhoods and youth with new resources for their various projects.

We have added a Youth Pool Party on Sunday as well as a DJ after the Live Auction and Talent Show. There will be a youth and adult track of programs this year. Most of the sessions will be separate, but we will be joining together for the Spectrum Temperament:Understanding Yourself and Others and the MCB Update/"Share Your Success".

Please plan to attend the MCB Conference this year whether you submitted an entry or not. We have scheduled time for communities and neighborhoods to share information with each other and provided display booths from various resource organizations.

MCB Needs Your Silent and Live Auction Items

The MCB silent and live auctions have been very successful and help a great deal to keep the expenses lower for the youth program for which the proceeds are designated.

We are asking the communities to donate something, such as a basket representing their community, an item or whatever they choose for either auction. The items can be brought to the conference on Sunday afternoon.

The live auction will take place during the Pizza Party/Talent Show on Sunday night. The Silent Auction will be in place until the Monday night banquet.

We hope you will join us in this effort. To register your items or if you have any questions please call Carolee Hazlet at 660-263-3345 or e-mail carolee@mcmsys. com.

Showcase Your Community with a Community Booth

We want to give communities and neighborhoods the opportunity to promote their area by hosting a community booth. This is a great way to showcase your community and there is no booth rental fee.

In order to have enough space for all the community booths that are wanting to participate, please call and reserve your space now. Booth set up is on Sunday afternoon and takedown is after the banquet Monday evening.

If your community or neighborhood would like to have a booth please contact Jan Simon at 660-259-4409 or mcb@iland.net.
