MCB Sponsor Luncheon

Missouri Community Betterment hosted a luncheon recently to honor and thank our sponsors. Without their support MCB would be unable to provide assistance to communities across the state.

The sponsors in attendance had an opportunity to visit with each other and meet the MCB Board of Directors and Executive Director. Jan Simon presented a power point presentation about the MCB Program, explained the current and new MCB projects and told the sponsors of the many ways that MCB promotes their businesses. The sponsors shared their thoughts on fundraising suggestions.

This is an event that MCB plans to continue in the future. If you know of a potential sponsor for MCB please contact Jan Simon at 417-334-3474 or mcb@iland.net.

2008 MCB Award Competition Materials

The 2008 MCB Award Competition materials are now available on the MCB web site at mcb web site . There will be NO entry fees this year. Because of the donations through our NAP grant and sponsors we are able to keep the cost of participating in MCB lower.

The 2008 MCB Project Book will have the same format as last year. The book should contain a maximum of 38 pages. Section One will have a maximum of 13 pages. Section Two should have no more than 25 pages and feature no more than five projects. New this year: the Project Book may be submitted electronically. As one example, a power point presentation may be submitted as the electronic Project Book entry. One paper copy of this electronic presentation must be submitted to MCB for display at the Annual Conference. The 2008 theme is: Celebrating 45 Years of Accomplishments.

Because planning is so important in the MCB Award Competition process we have determined if a community will send a copy of their community plan to Jan Simon by June 1, 2008 they will receive an additional five (5) points on their MCB Scoring Sheet in the 2008 Awards Competition. The community may use the MCB Community Inventory Form or a plan for their community that they have already devised. To access the MCB Community Inventory Form go to the MCB web site at mcb web site .

Communities entering the awards competition should plan to have someone from their community attend the 2008 Annual Conference to accept their award.

If you have questions or need assistance please contact Jan Simon at 417-334-3474 or mcb@iland.net.
