Project Book Examples on MCB Web Site

MCB wants to provide you with as much assistance as possible as you prepare for the Award Competition. Again this year we have placed four Project Books from different population categories on our web site. Two of the project book examples are new and two have been listed previously on our web site. These examples will give new or reactivating communities or neighborhoods a starting point as they assemble information and put their project book together. For the communities and neighborhoods that have participated in the Award Competition for many years this will give you examples of how other organizations compose their project book to determine if you would like to try a new style of presentation.

If you would like to use this MCB resource please go to our web site at mcb web site and review the Project Book examples. Then start working on your Project Book using the style your community decides to use. The pages following each project may be filled with newspaper articles, photos or other documents that provides information about your project. Remember your Project Book is the first opportunity that the judges have to learn about your projects before they visit your community or neighborhood.

New this year: the Project Book may be submitted electronically. As an example, a Power Point presentation, word document or Excel document may be submitted as the electronic Project Book entry. One paper copy of this electronic presentation must be submitted to MCB for display at the Annual Conference.

Plan Now to Attend the 45th MCB Conference

The MCB Adult and Youth Planning Committees are hard at work selecting topics and speakers for our Annual Conference. The conference will be held again this year in Jefferson City at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. Events will start on Sunday afternoon and conclude with the Awards Banquet on Monday evening.

We hope that all our communities will enter the Awards Competition, but if it is not possible this year, please plan to attend the Annual Conference anyway. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet people from other community betterment organizations, review Project Book entries, visit with vendors that can assist your community on future projects and hear great speakers with topics for youth and adults.

Mark October 19-20, 2008 on your calendar and plan to attend the 45th Annual MCB Conference. We will be featuring topics and speakers in our upcoming MCB newsletters. Watch the excitement grow as we are Celebrating 45 Years of Accomplishments!
