Project Book Examples on MCB Web Site

MCB wants to provide you with as much assistance as possible as you prepare for the Award Competition. For the first time we have placed four Project Books from different population categories on our web site. These examples will give new or reactivating communities or neighborhoods a starting point as they assemble information and put their project book together. For the communities and neighborhoods that have participated in the Award Competition for many years this will give you examples of how other organizations compose their project book to determine if you would like to try a new style of presentation.

If you would like to use this new MCB resource please go to our web site and review the Project Book examples. Then start working on your Project Book using the style your community decides to use. The pages following each project may be filled with newspaper articles, photos or other information that provides information about your project. Remember your Project Book is the first opportunity that the judges have to learn about your projects before they visit your community or neighborhood.

MCB Project Book Has New Guidelines

The 2007 MCB Project Book guidelines have changed. We are trying to make it easier for communities to participate in the MCB Award Competition. This year the project book should contain a maximum of 38 pages. Section One will have the same 13 pages as last year. Section Two should have no more than 25 pages and feature no more than five projects.  The 2007 theme is: Planning and Planting the Seeds for Success.

NEW REQUIREMENT: Due to the rising costs for the judging process Missouri Community Betterment is requiring an entry fee of $50. Checks should be made payable to MCBEF and sent to MCB, 22820 Hwy. 24, Dover, MO 64022. The MCB Entry Form, entry fee and new MCB Permission Statement are due postmarked June 30, 2007.

Communities entering the awards competition should plan to have someone from their community attend the 2007 Annual Conference to accept their award.

The 2007 entry materials may be obtained on the MCB web site at mcb web site . If you need assistance please contact Jan Simon at 660-259-4409 or at mcb@iland.net
