Greetings!
Summer is always a busy time of the year, and the summer of 2009 is no exception! MCB really hopes your community is busy putting together a community project book or disk, and also gathering information for your community's adult and youth leadership award nominations. 2009 Awards entry materials may be found on the MCB Web Site. To further assist you, you can also find sample project books and a sample disk on the web site from different population categories.
Reminder: Community Project books or disks, adult and youth leadership nominations, and the local community contact list are all due to MCB postmarked no later than July 31, 2009.
MCB wants to be sure that your community is using the 2009 Project Book guidelines and entry materials as you prepare for the MCB Award Competition. You will find them reprinted here again from the June "Community Matters" Newsletter. This information is also available on the MCB Web Site, where it may be entered online, or printed and then filled out. You will also find reprinted here the 2009 Calendar of Events so that you will have that information readily available.

Project Book Examples are available on the MCB Web Site
MCB wants to provide communities with as much assistance as possible as they prepare for the 2009 MCB Award Competition. MCB has placed three copies of Project Books and one disk format from different population categories on the MCB Web Site.
These examples will give new or reactivating communities and neighborhoods a starting point as they assemble information and put their project books together. For the communities and neighborhoods that have participated in the MCB Award Competition for many years, these will be examples of how other community organizations compose their project books. Communities can then determine if they would like to try a new style of community project presentation.
If you would like to use this MCB resource, please go to the MCB Web Site and review the Project Book examples, then start working on your community project book or disk in the style you choose to use. The pages following each project may be filled with newspaper articles, photos, or other documents that provide more information about the project. Remember, the project book is the first opportunity that the MCB Judges will have to learn about your projects before they actually visit your community or neighborhood.
The community project book may be submitted electronically. As an example, a Power Point presentation, Word documents, or Excel documents may be submitted as the electronic project book entry. One paper copy of this electronic presentation must be submitted to MCB for use by the MCB Judges, and for display at the Annual Conference.
