Introduction

Dear Missouri Community Official:

The Missouri Community Betterment Association is a statewide not-for-profit corporation whose goal is to act as a catalyst enabling local community groups and neighborhood associations to plan and execute community and business development projects for the benefit of the community and their youth. The Missouri Community Betterment (MCB) Association has been in existence for over 40 years and is lead by officials from federal and state agencies and the private sector.

During the 2006-2007 MCB conducted regional meeting with community officials who resoundingly requested that comprehensive listing of community resources such as grants, loans and technical assistance be available to community leaders. MCB has developed a “Resource Directory” that lists community resources from the public and private sectors. The goal of the MCB Resource Directory is to give community officials a starting point for the many government agencies and organizations that offer resources to communities. The MCB Resource Directory will list basic program information and entity contact information so local leaders can further investigate specific community resources. MCB plans to update the Resource Directory annually and changes and additions can be made at any time. If you know of any resources not listed, please call Executive Director Jan Simon to have the resource listed. The MCB Resource Directory is an excellent referral source for community resources.

MCB wishes to thank Ameren Services for their financial support in the development of this Directory. We look forward to a continuing partnership that will enable MCB to keep the Directory current for communities, organizations and individuals.
