Greetings!

Another year is coming to a close. The MCB Board would like to thank each community betterment organization that is working to make their community successful by participating in MCB.

This year we were pleased to have 39 communities participate in the judging competition. We had communities that did not participate this year that are in the planning process so they will be ready to enter competition next year. We had new communities that decided to enter the competition for the first time and some were award winners. Congratulations to all, everyone of you are a winner!

Several communities that have been inactive for a number of years have requested assistance in getting back into the MCB process. We have been able to match these communities up with a mentoring community to help them along for the first year.

More communities that are learning about MCB have requested a site visit to hear about our services and resources. Please let Jan Simon know if she can be of assistance to your community.

MCB Web Site Has New Look

The MCB web site is being updated and will continue to add new information. Presentations from the speakers at the Annual Conference are now on the web site. If you were not able to attend the conference this year this is a great way to observe the types of programs that were offered.

Pictures were taken throughout the conference and are displayed on the web site under the tab titled 2006 Conference. Why not take a look now and see if you, someone from your community or maybe an MCB friend from around the state is in one of these pictures. Go to the MCB web site at MCB web site

MCB Needs Your Assistance

For a number of years MCB has published a booklet titled "Awards in Review". This booklet provides information about the award winners since the beginning of MCB. MCB is in the process of updating this information so that we may place it on our web site.

We need your help. Listed below are the names of the adult and youth leadership winners from 2003. We would like for you to help us by providing the name of the community where they reside.

Adult Leadership Winners: Virginia Erwin, Dave Garnett, Chief James Graham, Duane Hersh, Doug Miller, and William Roth.

Youth Leadership Winners: Sid Fisher, Amy Diaz, Dustin Beasley, Callie Comegys, Trevor Fields, Sara Foster, Brittney Loch, Andrew Picker and Katelynne Shoemaker.

If you can help us identify these individuals please contact Jan Simon at 660-259-4409 or by e-mail at mcb@iland.net

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

The MCB Board of Directors and Jan Simon would like to wish each and every one of you a safe and happy holiday season and our very best wishes for a prosperous new year.

Plan To Attend An MCB Regional Meeting

MCB is in the process of planning Regional Meetings that will be held across the state of Missouri. These meetings will be held during the month of March. The MCB Board wants to bring you a program that will give you another resource for you to use in your community. We also want to have plenty of time for you to tell us about your needs and how we can help.

Look for more information on the locations, dates and agenda in the January newsletter.
