Request A Community Visit

Missouri Community Betterment is fortunate to have received funds through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) project that help to keep costs down for communities to attend the MCB Annual Conference, and to allow Jan Simon, Exec. Dir. MCB to be able to make individual visits to communities at no charge.

The Criteria for a Community Visit has been developed by the MCB Board and is available on the MCB Web Site by clicking on the "Community Visit Criteria." Communities that choose to meet the criteria (either send community members to the MCB Annual Conference this year, or have their community participate in the Awards Competition no later than next year) may contact Jan Simon at 314-334-3474 or by e-mail at mcb@iland.net to discuss a community visit request.

Visits will be made to communities until funds are expended so plan to contact Jan as soon as possible!

Community Plan Important!

Since planning is such a vital part of each community betterment organization, MCB wants to encourage you to review your community's plan from last year and make any changes that your community feels are needed.

If your community determines that it is time to develop a new plan, please go to the MCB Web Site "Planning Guide" for possible suggestions on how to start work on the new plan - using whichever style of plan your community chooses to use. The MCB Community Inventory Form is another community planning tool that is available.

When considering the projects your community chooses to enter into the MCB awards Competition this year, remember they should relate to your current community plan.

2009 MCB Award Competition Materials
The 2009 MCB Award Competition Materials are now available on the MCB Web Site. There are NO entry fees again this year. MCB is able to keep participation costs low due to having received the NAP Grant, and because of generous donations from our sponsors.

Section Two should have no more than 25 pages, and should feature no more than five (5) projects. The 2009 MCB Conference Theme is "MCB: Where Every Community Matters."

Communities entering the 2009 MCB Awards Competition must plan to have a local representative from their community attend the 2009 MCB Annual Conference October 18 and 19 in Jefferson City to accept any recognition or Award(s) that may be bestowed on the community.
